Nick Jonas thinks getting slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards is a rite of passage.
The American singer will play host at this year's ceremony which takes place on March 28 and will see Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Hudson and 5 Seconds of Summer take to the stage.
The awards are known for covering famous faces in gunge, and Nick isn't afraid of the slime.
"I feel like it's an honour. It's a rite of passage," he laughed to People.
"It was definitely a dream as a kid to be a part of this show. I grew up a huge SpongeBob SquarePants and Rocket Power fan."
Nick rose to fame as part of sibling group Jonas Brothers. He and his brothers Kevin and Joe even had their own series on the Disney Channel and became a phenomenon with screaming girls the world over.
Since the band dissolved in 2013 Nick has gone on to achieve solo success with his self-titled record and an acting role on show Kingdom.
"Stepping out on my own and not having my brothers with me all the time has been an adjustment. But I've had more positive experiences than negative ones. I'm thrilled how this past year has gone," he smiled.
While his siblings have been supportive of his career choices, they did give him some flak for a raunchy photoshoot he posed for.
Nick was featured in Flaunt magazine last year grabbing his crotch, much to the amusement of Joe and Kevin.
"They have definitely taken one or two shots in a playful way. But I expected it. We're brothers. It's our jobs to give each other c**p," he said.
