Singer Nick Jonas has been added to the line-up for Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
The musician is the latest name to be announced for the star-studded TV event, which will air in the US on 31 December 2015 on the ABC network. Other acts to join the final guest list include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and they will join a host of stars watching the ball drop, including One Direction, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ellie Goulding and former The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes.
"The show will include special performances and reports on New Year's celebrations from around the globe," read a statement. "Ryan Seacrest will host and lead the traditional countdown to midnight from Times Square in New York City, as he has for the last 10 years, with live reporting from actress-and-comedienne Jenny McCarthy."
Ryan will be presenting live from Times Square and will introduce performances from stars such as Carrie Underwood, Charlie Puth, Wiz Khalifa, Luke Bryan and Demi Lovato. Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie will be overseeing the festivities from the Billboard Hollywood Party in Los Angeles – where boyband One Direction will take to the stage as headliners of the event.
Nick has carved out a successful solo career since Jonas Brothers split in 2013, the band which catapulted him to fame alongside his siblings Kevin and Joe. As well as releasing hit tracks such as Jealous, Nick has kept himself busy with acting projects this year.
"It's busy, I'm shooting Kingdom - it's the second season of that show, I play a fighter - and then Scream Queens, this show, where I play a golf fraternity college kid - he looks a little confused there," Nick told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in reference to a photo of his character lying in bed in October (15). "It's great, working with (writer) Ryan Murphy on that show and my castmates on Kingdom, and getting to tour and do all the music stuff, it's been a really amazing year."
