Nick Jonas has announced the launch of a nationwide singing competition in an effort to find America's next pint-sized superstar.
The 18-year-old singer/producer has teamed up with Quaker Chewy Granola Bars for the Quaker Chewy Superstar Contest, which kicks off next Wednesday (June 8). Performances of children ages 8-14 can be uploaded to ChewySuperstar.com through Aug. 5, and a panel of judges will evaluate the performances before America votes on the top five contestants. The winner will receive a song produced by Jonas, a contract with Jonas Group Management, an online music video and a cash prize.

"Making music is my passion in life and the best way I know how to express myself," Jonas said in a statement. "I wanted to be part of the Quaker Chewy Superstar Search to help other young musicians make music and follow their dreams."
After beginning his musical career at age 7 with the Jonas Brothers, Jonas released 2010's "Who I Am" as the leader of Nick Jonas & the Administration; the album has sold 174,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. His older brother, Joe Jonas, is set to release his debut solo single, "See No More," on Friday.
