Nicki Minaj sent her security team to scope out a studio so she could record in private this week.
The singer is currently on her Pink Friday Tour, but took some time out on Monday to lay down a new track in Dallas. She was apparently determined no one would hear the song before it was finished, so took extreme measures.
"No one at the studio was allowed to know the name of the song Nicki was recording. They were told Nicki did not want anyone to know," a source told New York Post.
"Her team came three hours before her to meet everyone in their office. They also looked around for any groupies hiding out."
Nicki has moved some dates for her Pink Friday: Reloaded Tour, which kicks off later this year. She told fans on Twitter not to worry as they'd like her reasons for doing so, leading many to believe she's working on a new album.
The star arrived at the studio in a black SUV and had another vehicle with her. She was wearing jeans and a fur gilet and had bodyguards in tow.
"She sent someone out to buy her own water, and she also had to have them buy straws she could sip from," the insider laughed.
