While the Eastern Seaboard was gearing up for the stormy disaster that Hurricane Sandy is predicted to bring, Nicki Minaj continued her rap (and pop) reign this weekend when she dropped the music video for "Va Va Voom," the new single from her upcoming Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded-The Re-Up.
The vid premiered Friday on E! News, and it was also announced that Barbz will be able to see Nicki's all-new E! special "Nicki Minaj: My Truth" on November 4, two weeks before the retooled Roman album drops November 19.
The Hype Williams-directed "Va Va Voom" clip, which has already clocked in nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube, explores Nicki's fairytale fantasies and features the Young Money hitmaker in a number of elaborate costumes and storybook scenarios. The sun-drenched opening scene shows a blond Minaj frolicking in a brook while white horses gallop and her dream lover courts her.
"If you want, I wanna be va va voom voom/ If you got it, you got it, you got that boom boom," she sings on the song's poppy hook while wearing a unicorn head piece.
For the second verse, Nicki returns in a pumpkin-colored wig as she bakes sweets in a cottage, only to be abducted by a rogue Robin Hood who traps the sleeping beauty in a glass-covered tomb in the middle of the forest.
The "Super Bass" raptress continues to play dress-up, appearing as a fairy Godmother and a wicked queen before she is eventually saved by her Prince Charming.
Even though a portion of her fans may be hunkered down inside for the next few days, Nicki at least gave them some eye candy to entertain themselves. "You guys be careful with these hurricanes," she tweeted Sunday. "Do not fly."
