Nicki Minaj has hit out at MTV after failing to get a VMA nomination for Video of the Year.
The nods for the upcoming Video Music Awards ceremony were announced on Tuesday.
And while Nicki's raunchy video Anaconda earned her mentions in the Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Female video category, the singer couldn't resist taking to Twitter to bemoan the lack of other nominations for the video – namely Best Choreography and Video of the Year.
"If I was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well (sic)," Nicki began her Twitter rant.
"Ellen did her own anaconda video and did the #choreo lol. Remember her doing that kick . Even mtv did a post on the choreo @MTV remember?
"U couldn't go on social media w/o seeing ppl doing the cover art, choreo, outfits for Halloween...an impact like that & no VOTY nomination?
"When the 'other' girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination."
While Nicki didn't mention these "other" girls by name, the nominees for Video of the Year were Taylor Swift, Beyoncé Knowles, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar.
Nicki wasn't the only star complaining on social media about their nomination exclusion.
Azealia Banks also missed out on being recognised for the awards, and was quick to associate the absence of nominations to the colour of her skin.
"All my videos deserve VMas and my album deserves a Grammy but I'll never get one because America doesn't like opinionated black women," she tweeted.
"Poor Me," she concluded.
