Ahead of her new studio album The Pinkprint, Nicki Minaj will be hosting and performing at the 2014 MTV European Music Awards.
Minaj made the announcement on her Instagram last night saying "So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year's MTV European Music Awards!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! The show will shoot in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND for its 20th Anniversary ON NOVEMBER 9th!!!!"
As well has hosting and performing at the awards, Minaj has also been nominated in four categories including Best Female, Best Hip Hop, Biggest Fans and Best Look (something which reminds us bizarrely of the Blackadder episode where he wins a local election by being the election agent, acting returning officer and voter). Polling has now begun on mtvema.com and will close on 8 November.
Earlier this month Minaj announced the release date on The Pinkprint on Twitter, explaining to MTV News that the name is referred to Jay Z's The Blueprint as she is "obsessed" with Hov.
The album will be released via Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records, and Public Records. In her interview with Carson Daly, Minaj announces: "I just have to say that I'm at such a different place as a human being. I know artists say that all the time but now I understand why. Nothing really surprises me anymore. I handle things more maturely. Just writing wise I can put my thoughts together better I feel. So sonically I think the album sounds so amazing. And there are so many surprises on the album."
