No Doubt Pull 'Hurtful' 'Looking Hot' Music Video

No Doubt may have dreamed up a couture-laden Western for their "Looking Hot" video, but since it dropped last week, the SoCal band has since removed the clip from its official YouTube page after some fans felt it was disrespectful toward Native American culture.

The video, which still lives on elsewhere on the Internet, was directed by Melina Matsoukas. It imagines Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal as Native Americans, who find themselves kidnapped by two cowboys, played by bandmates Adrian Young and Tom Dumont. One day after the video dropped on Friday, the band issued a statement apologizing to fans who may have been offended by the video's concept.

"As a multi-racial band our foundation is built upon both diversity and consideration for other cultures. Our intention with our new video was never to offend, hurt or trivialize Native American people, their culture or their history," the

The statement continues, "The music that inspired us when we started the band, and the community of friends, family, and fans that surrounds us was built upon respect, unity and inclusiveness. We sincerely apologize to the Native American community and anyone else offended by this video. Being hurtful to anyone is simply not who we are."

"Looking Hot" is the second single released off the band's 2012 album release, Push and Shove, following up their single "Settle Down." When MTV News reached out to Matsoukas for comment regarding the controversy she had yet to respond to MTV News by press time.
