Speaking at London's Electric Theatre yesterday, Noel told The Mirror that the backstage fight in Paris kicked off just minutes after Liam announced that he didn't want to do the gig.
'He picked up a plum and threw it across the dressing room and it smashed against the wall,' said Noel.
'Part of me wishes it had ended like that, you know, 'Plum throws plum.' But he came back with a guitar and started wielding it like an axe and I'm not f****** kidding - it's a real unnecessary violent act.
'He's swinging the guitar around and he kind of... he nearly took my face off with it.
'So I was like, 'I'm f****** out of here' and I walked out and got in the car and sat there for five minutes, and I said 'F*** it, I can't do it anymore.' And I regret it as we only had two gigs left.'
And he said that Liam's new clothing line was also causing tension because he wanted to plug it at their gigs.
'I'd had enough of him,' Noel said.
'I didn't think it was right for him to be flogging his gear to our fans, so I asked him how much he wanted to pay to be included, and he hit the roof. It went downhill from there.'
