Noel Gallagher's debut solo album Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, is set to land the number one position in the UK record charts this weekend.
The ex-Oasis guitarist is fighting it out with X-Factor winner Matt Cardle for the top spot, and is currently leading by a comfortable margin.
Gallagher has so far sold 55,000 copies, whereas Cardle's debut, Letters, has shifted 28,000.
However, the Official Charts Company predict Cardle to close the gap over the coming days once supermarket sales start to filter in.
Last week, Noel's pre-order album sales suggested he would be topping the charts by this point, as figures showed him to be 13 per cent ahead of his rival.
The chart figures are revealed Sunday night (Oct 23) at 7pm GMT.
