Noel Gallagher has revealed the reason behind Oasis' dramatic split.
The singer discussed the band's split in 2009 at a press conference in London today (July 6) where he announced his comeback with the album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds'.
When asked about his relationship with former bandmate and brother Liam, he said: ''I never had enough of Oasis, I had enough of him and our relationship but it was never as bad as people made out. It all unravelled when he started his clothing line and wanted to advertise it on our tour and i didn't agree with that.''
Speaking about the night the band split in Paris, Noel added: ''After Liam's violent outburst in the dressing room I just thought 'I’m out of here'. I got in a car and left that show. If I could go back and do those two shows we had left on that tour I would have done them. We may have never have split up we may have all just gone on a hiatus to do our own thing. I mastered my role in that band. Liam just doesn't like me in a violent way... I did everyone a favour''.
Noel Gallagher's 'High Flying Birds' is released on October 17 – and is the first of two albums the singer has completed.
