Noel, who today announced at a London press conference that he is set to release two new solo albums, has offered a honest assessment of his solo future without his younger brother, admitting life as a frontman will be challenging.
Speaking of Liam, who has formed new band Beady Eye, Gallagher said: 'He's probably better off without me because he's in charge now.
'But it remains to be seen whether I'm better without him. I've never really seen myself as a frontman.'
Talking about why the pair are no longer friends and why Oasis are no more, Noel revealed how, on his last night in the group, Liam, 38, had thrown a plum across the room before they both walked out.
According to Heat magazine, he joked: 'If only it ended there, a plum throwing a plum.'
The 44-year-old, whose debut solo album is called High Flying Birds and will be out on 17 October, added: 'It took me 18 years, but I f***ing mastered being that guy standing on the right playing the guitar. But he [Liam] doesn't like me. And there's no point being in a band where you don't get on.'
