Mike Mills of R.E.M. reveals guest stars and more details for their next album.
Mills told Spin that Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder sings on 'It Happened Today', Patti Smith sings on 'Blue' and Peaches joins the band for an as-yet-untitled tune.
The band recorded their new album Collapse Into Now in Berlin with producer Jacknife Lee, who also worked on their last record Accelerate.
Mills said that the new record is 'very personal, very human record - not only to Michael [Stipe], but personal and human in the sense of the narrative of the songs, the protagonists of the songs'.
He also revealed that it will run the gamut, from 'really slow, beautiful songs' to 'some nice, mid-tempo ones' to three or four 'rockers'.
Collapse Into Now is due out next March through Warner Bros.
