As reported by Music News last week, former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney is to headline this year's Glastonbury Festival.

He will take the top spot on June 26 at the end of his 04 Summer Tour, the first time he will have been on the road since becoming a father again.

The 61-year-old star will kick off his month-long tour in May, playing at 12 cities across Europe.

Macca offered to spearhead last year's Glastonbury but organiser Michael Eavis had to turn down the offer because Radiohead had already been confirmed in the headline slot.
