Paul McCartney has been hospitalised with an unknown virus after being forced to cancel all upcoming shows in Japan.
The Beatles icon and solo star HAD postponed a gig in Tokyo on the weekend after touching down in the country for a tour - but then pulled the remaining dates due to ill health - under doctors orders for 'complete rest'.
Now, Consequence Of Sound reports that Japanese paper Sankei Sports state that McCartney was admitted to the hospital after his condition worsened - with fans gathering outside to show their support.
An official spokesman then told Rolling Stone that Sir Paul "will make a complete recovery and has been ordered to take a few days rest."
They added: "Paul has been extremely moved by all the messages and well wishes he has received from fans all over the world."
It is currently unconfirmed as to whether his condition will effect his 18-date US tour that kicks off in June.
