Sir Paul McCartney has suggested Heather Mills open her gardens to the public to pay off her debts.
The animal rights campaigner is reportedly seething after her estranged multi-millionaire husband made the suggestion as a way of helping to settle her growing legal bills in their divorce battle.
A source said: "Heather is in a bit of a pickle money-wise. She has mounting debts.
"Paul has suggested some ways for her properties or even opening her gardens to the public. Heather is furious because she feels Paul made the suggestions in a sarcastic way. She also thinks they're unworkable and, to be quite honest, ridiculous. As if she can open up land around her home - she'll have all sorts coming in and invading her privacy."
Heather - who lost her left leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident in 1993 - and Paul, 65, have a four year-old daughter Beatrice together. The couple are due to begin their divorce battle in the London courts next month.
