McDonald, 26, recently got engaged to the Twilight actress after meeting in March this year on the red carpet at the Red Riding Hood premiere.
He said to PEOPLE: 'I'm getting married - yes - to the lovely Nikki Reed. That's been really exciting. I'm really pumped up about that. She's an amazing lady, and I'm very lucky to be hanging out with her.'
The rocker also confirmed that planning for the wedding has already started.
He added: 'I'll let you guys know those plans as soon as they are allowed to come out.'
