Warner Bros. is eyeing a June 29 release date for a nine-disc Paul Simon boxed set, "Studio Recordings 1972-2000," Billboard.com has learned.
Simon inked with Warner Bros. for the release of his 1980 soundtrack album "One Trick Pony" and has gone on to record five additional studio sets for the label. The artist began his solo career with three studio releases for Columbia; it's unclear if any of that material will be included in the set. Warner Bros. previously released the 3-CD set "Paul Simon 1964/1993" in 1993.
Simon was at work on his next solo release last summer when he announced plans to embark on a reunion tour with Art Garfunkel, but no further information about the project has been revealed. The pair's Old Friends trek will return to the road June 10 in Albany, N.Y.
