Pearl Jam will celebrate their 20th anniversary with a series of special projects including a documentary from Cameron Crowe.
Crowe went through 1200 hours of old, unused footage, plus shot 24 hours of new live and interview footage for his documentary on the band 'Pearl Jam Twenty'.
Over the course of a few hours he will tell the 20 year history of the band.
A soundtrack album from the movie will also be released. Crowe compiled the track listing for the Pearl Jam Twenty album as a companion to the film.
To coincide with the movie and album publisher Simon & Schuster in the USA and Canada and Atlantic Books in UK, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand will release the Pearl Jam Twenty book. It was compiled and written by Jonathan Cohen (Late Night With Jimmy Fallon) and Mark Wilkerson (author: Who Are You: The Life of Pete Townshend), designed by Pearl Jam's designer Regan Hagar (also the drummer in Brad and Satchel) and including a forward and additional interviews by Cameron Crowe.
2011 will be a year long anniversary for Pearl Jam which kicked off with the anniversary editions of the albums 'Vs.' and 'Vitalogy' in March.
Pearl Jam will perform a 20th anniversary concert on the Labor Day weekend in the USA featuring special guests Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, Mudhoney, John Doe, Joseph Arthur, Glen Hansard and Liam Finn.
Pearl Jam will also tour Canada in September.
