Pete Doherty has revealed that Jack White has said he wants to produce The Libertines' new album, but that he's not 'too hopeful' that it will happen.
The band, who'll be following up their massive Hyde Park comeback show with a string of huge gigs at London's Alexandra Palace this month, have already said that they hope to release their long-awaited third album in 2015.
Now, in conversation with French TV Station D8, Doherty has revealed that the former White Stripe has expressed an interest in manning the production desk.
"Jack White says he'd like to do it," said Doherty. "I'd love him to do it, it would be amazing, but I don't want to get too hopeful".
When quizzed on the sound of the next record, Doherty added that it would be "a little different".
