Peter Andre is desperate for a "quickie" divorce.
The 'Mysterious Girl' singer is keen to end his three-and-a-half year marriage to former glamour model Katie Price – with who he raises three children, Harvey, six, Junior, three, and 22-month-old Princess Tiaamii – with as little fuss as possible.
Peter is quoted as saying: "There is no way I'm getting back with Kate. I wouldn't be putting my children through this hell if I wasn't serious.
"I want a divorce - and I want it to be as amicable as possible so we can all get on with our lives."
A source added: "There is no going back. Pete wants to get on with things for the sake of his kids and plough on with the divorce - the quicker the better."
Peter's decision to move forward with the divorce comes after Katie was said to have begged her estranged husband to work on their marriage.
Katie – who made a string of phone calls and text messages to Peter during her 31st birthday party on Friday (22.05.09) – reportedly said:
"I'll take back Pete tomorrow. I'll drop the divorce if he gives me another chance."
However, Peter is unconvinced by her show of emotion as she spent Friday visiting top divorce lawyer Fiona Shackleton, who has represented Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney.
He is also said to be upset by her decision to get rid of all his belongings from their family home last week.
A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Kate doesn't want to rush things. She believes Pete is moving too fast and doesn't want him to go through this divorce without thinking it through properly.
"As far as Pete is concerned, though, their marriage is dead and buried. All he cares about is the welfare of his children.
"He doesn't want things to be delayed and turn any nastier than they already are. He just wants resolution, again for the sake of the children."
Peter wants to secure joint custody of his children with Katie – Junior and Princess Tiaamii – and is said to be furious Katie has decided to give them a curfew to ensure they are back at their Surrey home in time for bed.
Under her rules, Peter can only see the kids between 11am and 6pm.
The source added: "He is desperate to read Junior his bedtime story, as he has done for three years. The fact he is not allowed to is simply heartbreaking.
"Pete feels Kate is doing it deliberately, reminding him that his decision to end their relationship has effectively broken up the family. For him, it's tantamount to bribery."
