The 'Perfect Night' singer and reality TV star went to see Take That last week and said was gobsmacked at what a great show they put on, taking extra note of Robbie's showmanship.
He said: "I went to see Take That last week and my God, they were awesome. It was absolutely brilliant.
"I know Robbie Williams has had a bit of stick about swearing during the shows, but it didn't bother me personally.
"When he sang 'Let Me Entertain You', the crowd went wild and he reminded me a bit of Freddie Mercury. He has such presence and he totally smashed it."
Pete, 38, lamented the fact his own music career isn't on such a high at present, but as long as he gets the approval of his children, Junior, six, and Princess Tiaamii, four, he doesn't mind.
Speaking in his column in this week's new! magazine, he added: "I did lots of TV shows last week to promote my single. I don't think it will chart as high as I'd like it to but, as the old saying goes, 'If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again.'
"It's a real shame that people won't play my songs on the radio, but I'm not bitter about it as I have so many things to be grateful for.
"I've always said my kids are my fiercest critics but Junior absolutely loves 'Perfect Night', so that's good enough for me."
'Perfect Night' ' co written by Taio Cruz and Guy Chambers ' is out now.
