The Aussie singer and father-of-two said that he thought Peter Andre: My Life would be better without footage of him frolicking in his swimming shorts.
“I did a couple of hot tub parties and I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah, we'll film this,' but I kind of shelved it. I'm too old,” the 38-year-old told Now magazine.
He said that how he celebrates his 40th birthday will depend on his relationship status.
“I'll give The Hangover a run for its money,” he said of hitting the landmark as a single man.
“It'll probably be in Vegas with my mates and no film crew - just leave our cameras running and show me where the stop button is.
“Then, of course, if I get married before my 40th I'll have a lovely night at home with the wife and a cup of tea.”
The Mysterious Girl star, who was once married to glamour model Katie Price, insisted that he is just good friends with backing dancer Kristina Macmillan following their recent fling.
“It is what it is. She's great, but we're just mates. We've had fun. I'm not going to lie about that.
“We knew each other for ages and started seeing each other in June, but it hasn't sort of progressed.”
