Overview
Pop star Peter Andre has been admitted to hospital with suspected meningitis. The husband of glamour girl Jordan was admitted to the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, Surrey. Jordan is said to be "frantic" with worry and maintaining a bedside vigil.
A spokeswoman said hospital staff did not know when Andre would be discharged.
Meningitis is the inflammation of the lining around the brain and spine. It can kill within hours.
There are two types of meningitis - viral and bacterial - and the spokeswoman said it was not yet known which of these Andre may be suffering from.
Viral meningitis is the most common but is usually not serious.
