The 'Behind Closed Doors' singer – who has remained single since he split from his ex-wife Katie Price earlier this year – is now ready to move on and hopes he won't be lonely next Christmas.
He said: "I'm not seeing anyone. I'm still ready to date. I don't think I will go out with anyone in the industry, but you never know.
"I want to stay focused, but also open-minded about meeting somebody. I probably need to be more outgoing though! This time next year I'd like to think I will have met someone and be in some kind of relationship."
The 36-year-old star - who raises three children, Harvey, seven, Junior, four, and two-year-old Princess with Katie– said the saddest moment of 2009 was the breakdown of his marriage because it was the "lowest point I've ever hit in my life".
Peter said he is now putting his divorce behind him and will instead just look to the future.
He told Britain's OK! magazine: "I thought there was no light at the end of the tunnel, but I know there is now and I'm coming out the other side.
