Peter Gabriel is supporting Amnesty International on his four-date tour of Chile, Argentina and Mexico, starting tonight in Santiago in Chile.
The singer, who is a longstanding champion of the human rights organisation, will have Amnesty literature at the concerts as part of his support for the organisation's freedom of expression campaign.
Gabriel is touring his acclaimed "New Blood" album, released last month, and he and his "New Blood Orchestra" are playing the Moviestar Arena in Santiago (16th), the Estadio Geba in Buenos Aires (18th), the National Auditorium in Mexico City (23rd), and the Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara, Mexico (26th). Peter Gabriel said:
"Free expression and human rights have been the life-blood of so much of the work I've done in the last few decades and Amnesty's campaigning has been a life-changing part of that.
"Those of us who have the eyes and ears of the media have a responsibility to amplify the voices of the voiceless.
"I'd be delighted if everyone who comes to one of my concerts picks up some Amnesty literature and checks out their work."
