Phil Collins has revealed that he has contemplated suicide in the past.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the former Genesis star conceded that criticism he has received over the years has taken its toll.
But he said that he couldn't follow through with his suicidal thoughts because of his family.
“I wouldn't blow my head off," he said. "I'd overdose or do something that didn't hurt. But I wouldn't do that to the children.
“A comedian who committed suicide in the Sixties left a note saying, 'Too many things went wrong too often.' I often think about that."
Collins released his new album 'Going Back', which features covers of 60's Motown & Soul classics, earlier this year.
