Phil Collins new love interest

Singer Phil Collins is romancing an American TV news anchorwoman, according to a US report.

The New York Post said the former Genesis star, who announced in March that he was separating from his third wife, was in a relationship Dana Tyler, of New York's WCBS-TV.

She showed the singer round the station's studios earlier this week and introduced him to her colleagues, according to the newspaper. The pair have apparently also been spotted playing golf near Tyler's home in Connecticut.

One of her colleagues told the newspaper: "She's beaming. This is the happiest I've seen her. They've been keeping it quiet for several weeks, but it's out now that she's shown him around the studio."

Collins, 55, and Tyler were said to have met when she interviewed him before his musical Tarzan opened on Broadway in May.

"I can confirm they are friends," a spokesman for Collins said.

"I don't know any more than that. Phil is picking himself up and he is getting on with his life."

Collins is buying a swanky apartment in New York near Central Park. But when he announced that he and wife Orianne were separating he said he planned to continue living in Switzerland.

The musician married his first wife, Andrea Bertorelli in 1975. They had a son, Simon, and Collins adopted Bertorelli's daughter, Joely.

Nine years later he married Jill Tavelman, and the couple had a daughter, Lily.
