Plan B, Muse and Tinie Tempah were among those to win Ivor Novello awards at the event's ceremony in London this afternoon (May 19).
Plan B, real name Ben Drew, won the award for Best Album for 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks', the PRS For Music Most Performed Work award for 'She Said' and the award for Songwriter Of The Year.
Tinie Tempah picked up the gong for Best Comtemporary Song for 'Pass Out', while Villagers won the Best Song Musically And Lyrically award for 'Becoming A Jackal'. Muse won the award for International Achievement, while Dizzee Rascal picked the Ivors Inspiration award.
According to the organisers the awards are designed to "celebrate honour and reward excellence in British music writing."
The PRS For Music Outstanding Contribution To British Music went to former Queen singer Paul Rodgers while the Special International Award was presented to composer Stephen Sondheim. Stevie Winwood was also honoured, receiving the Outstanding Song Collection award.
The Best Original Film Score went to John Powell for How To Train Your Dragon, while the Ivors Classical Music awards went to Michael Nyman. The Best Original Video Game Score went to Napoleon: Total War.
