Polyphonic Spree percussionist Brian Teasley managed single-handedly to shut down five gates at the Dallas Forth Worth-International Airport last week.
His crime -- bringing a custom-made microphone in his luggage. The microphone is pipe-shaped and copper-colored, has wires coming out of it -- and to authorities, it looks like a bomb.
Teasley had taken a flight to Birmingham, Alabama, and when his luggage didn't show up on the carousel, he filed a complaint and went home. Turns out the luggage was still in Texas and authorities were investigating it because of the microphone.
Teasley says he had quite a reception when he got home. He says, "I had a Taco Bell in my hand, and all of a sudden, these cars block me in my driveway. They've all got tinted windows, 'X-Files' style." He says a man approached him with a bullet-proof vest and another had a gun drawn. Teasley describes it as "a very harrowing day."
