Puff Daddy ‘bans son from TV show’

Puff Daddy reportedly "kicked up a huge stink" when he found out his son had to give up music rights for a TV appearance.

The 45-year-old rapper adopted son Quincy during his on/off relationship with Kimberly Porter and has supported the youngster with his music career ever since.

And Quincy's talents were apparently recognised when hip-hop drama show Empire, created by Lee Daniels, approached him to lend some of his music to the programme.

However, Page Six reports Puff - real name Sean Combs - quickly stepped in when he learned that his son would be required to sign over a portion of his music rights to the Fox show.

Empire has already been confirmed for a second series, with guest stars including Naomi Campbell, and follows CEO of family-run music label Empire Entertainment, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard).

"Diddy kicked up a huge stink and called all the top brass at 20th Century Fox TV to get them to change their rules over music rights," a source revealed. "He said there was no way his son was signing over his intellectual property. So he banned him from the show."

It may not be the end of Quincy's journey though. The publication adds that he is still being considered for a role on the second series; as long as Puff agrees.

"Lee's super excited about having Quincy on the show," the insider noted.

Quincy is enjoying a career high at the moment. He recently released his first single, Friends First, and his dad has been busy helping him promote the tune.

Last week Puff posted a video on his Instagram of him and his son with a heart-felt caption.

"#watch i just want to say I'm so proud of my son @quincy ! Today is a big day for our family. Today Quincy debuted his new video for his single FRIENDS FIRST ! Go see it now at revolt.tv and it is also available on iTunes. #ProudDAD @ladykp (sic)" he wrote.
