A week ago, it was revealed that Whitney Houston was in talks to be a judge on the X-Factor. Today, a new name surfaces when Janet Jackson talked with Anderson Cooper on his show.
Cooper asked whether rumors were true about her joining the show with Janet saying "Oh my God. No, I'm not a judge on the X-Factor. ... But that's all I really think I should say."


The new album from Slash will be called Apocalyptic Love and is set for a June 18 release; however, those in the U.K. will be able to get the album on May 21 in a Classic Rock "Fan Pack" that includes the album with bonus tracks and a special magazine.


Gregg Allman's autobiography, My Cross to Bear, will be out on May 1 in both hardcover and enhanced e-book form (with pictures, videos, etc.). The announcement of the book promises an "unflinching tale of his life on stage and off, from becoming rock royalty, to his string of failed marriages including his marriage to Cher, to his decades-long struggle with drugs and alcohol."


Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Buddy Guy and Keb' Mo' are scheduled to salute the blues for the latest In Performance at the White House. Booker T. Jones is directing the show, which occurs on February 21 and will air on PBS on February 27. For those who can't wait for the PBS airing, the show will also stream live at whitehouse.gov/live.


Bob Seger has told Rolling Stone that he is aiming for September 24 to have out his next studio album, his first since 2006's Face the Music.


Remember when Elvis Costello got all upset because Amazon was selling his "Super Deluxe Edition" of The Return of the Spectacular Spinning Songbook for $260? Well, they've raised the price now to $280. That's OK, though, as the standard version of the album will finally see the light of day April 3 and Amazon has it for "only" $22.65 for the CD/DVD combo.
