Loretta Lynn is home from the hospital where she was taken Saturday with a case of bacterial pneumonia after she woke up on the tour bus having difficulty breathing. The singer said in a statement that "It was one scary night."
While she had to cancel a couple of shows on the current tour, she says she will be well and ready to go again on November 3 in Knoxville, TN.
Tony Iommi has said that a Black Sabbath reunion would be difficult but not impossible. He told Rolling Stone "The band can decide to do something, but there are a lot of people involved, and everybody's got individual managers. It's not as easy as like it was in the old days – us all going in one room and it all works. I mean, we can certainly do that, but it's a bit more involved than that.
"I talk to Ozzy a lot. We've always been in contact. And I talk to Bill [Ward] occasionally ... Geezer [Butler] is not one for being on the phone, we normally e-mail. We all get on well. I don't think there's any bad vibes or anything."
Six years after the end of the Grateful Dead archive series Dick's Picks made it's last release, a new series is about to take flight. Dave's Picks, named after David Lamieux who took over as the band's historian in 1999 after Dick Latvala stepped down, will curate the new releases which are expected to be available four times per year as either singularly or as a subscription.
The first new set, expected in January, will be the band's May 25, 1977 show at the Mosque in Richmond, Virginia.
Les Paul is among the artists who will be added to Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame in November. Also being added are Alan Jackson, Kix Brooks, gospel's Dottie Rambo, broadcasters Dan Miller and Dr. Bobby Jones and fashion designer Manuel.
The ceremony will be held on November 6 and will bring the total number of artists enshrined to 58.
Two members of the Chicago band Kid Rocker are suing Poison, alleging that they stole four songs. According to Billy McCarthy and James Stonich, they auditioned guitarist C.C. DeVille in 1984 before he joined Poison and four of the songs they used during the audition went on to become tracks for Poison.
They are seeking financial compensation and an agreement that the group will never again play Talk Dirty to Me, Fallen Angel, Ride the Wind and I Won't Forget You.
Fred Ferrara, a former member of the Del Satins and the Brooklyn Bridge, passed away on Friday of cardiac arrest at the age of 71. As a member of the Del Satins, he backed up Dion on his hits Runaround Sue and The Wanderer. Dion called Ferrara "a beautiful and wonderful man. He sang with great heart."
