When Billboard puts out their album chart on Thursday, expect to see Tom Waits have the best chart position of his career. Estimates from Hits Daily Double has Waits debuting at number 6 with Bad as Me on sales of around 61,000. His prior best was 2004's Real Gone which peaked at 28.
Also debuting is Vince Gill's Guitar Slinger, expected to come in around the mid-teens on sales of 20 to 21,000.
Alice Cooper will be playing himself in the upcoming film Dark Shadows. In the film, which is set in 1972, the singer is hired by vampire Barnabas Collins (played by Johnny Depp) to play at a ball. Also in the film are Helena Bonham Carter, Michelle Pfeiffer and Eva Green.
Look for Morrissey to perform live on both Jimmy Kimmel (ABC) and Conan O'Brien (TBS) during his upcoming U.S. tour. The Kimmel show will air November 23 and O'Brien on November 29.
Pete Townshend took off after Apple at a recent lecture, saying that they were digital vampires who are destroying the copyright system. He also said that downloaders "may as well come and steal my son's bike while they're at it… I wonder what has gone wrong with human morality and social justice."
This December, a new album of unfinished tracks by Amy Winehouse will be released under the name Lioness: Hidden Treasures. The cover of the album was shot by none other than Bryan Adams, although it hasn't been revealed when the photo was taken. Adams had photographed the singer at different times between 2007 and 2011.
