Quincy Jones will add to his extensive list of film scores with The Butler, a new film from Lee Daniels (Monster's Ball, Precious).
The Butler tells the story of Eugene Allen, a butler that worked in the White House under eight different presidents. Forest Whitaker will play the lead with Oprah Winfrey, Alan Rickman, Robin Williams, James Marsden, Jane Fonda and Minka Kelly also in the cast.
Jones has written the score for 33 feature films dating back to the 1961 Swedish motion picture Pojken i trädet. He has received Academy Award nominations for the score and/or original songs from Banning, In Cold Blood, For the Love of Ivy, The Wiz and The Color Purple. Other films for which he has written include The Pawnbroker, In the Heat of the Night, Mackenna's Gold, The Italian Job, Cactus Flower and The Getaway.
