Ending up with the number eight song of the year was pretty easy for Rage Against The Machine. They did it without even trying.
'Killing In The Name' was the 8th biggest seller of 2009 in England on just two weeks of sales.
The 1992 classic was driven by a Facebook campaign to stop Simon Cowell's X-Factor Machine from having the Christmas hit of 2009 and it worked. Rage Against The Machine 'Killing In The Name' debuted at number one blocking X-Factor winner Joe McElderry 'The Climb' from getting on top for Christmas.
In week 2, the positions switched and Joe did get his number one while Rage dropped to number two.
This week, Rage disappeared as quickly as it came in, dropping from no. 2 to no. 40.
McElderry also dropped back and Lady Gaga 'Bad Romance' went to number one in England this week.
