"Breaking Dawn" producer Wyck Godfrey wasn't wrong when he said the best kiss is when "it's really about a prelude to sex." And, as he predicted, "Twilight" stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won their fourth consecutive Best Kiss award at tonight's MTV Movie Awards for their wedded-bliss kiss in the series' penultimate installment.
Pattinson and Stewart had stiff competition, to be sure, including previous winner Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone ("Crazy, Stupid, Love"), Emma Watson and Rupert Grint ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"), Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson ("The Hunger Games") and Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum ("The Vow").
Pattinson couldn't attend the awards ceremony due to prior commitments for his upcoming film "Cosmopolis," suggesting an interesting acceptance speech smooch solution for co-star Stewart.
"I think Kristen is going, so she's going to kiss herself if she wins," he said with a grin.
And, well, that's sort of what Stewart did. After taking the stage and asking for a succession of co-stars, including "Snow White and the Huntsman" actors Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and "Twilight" hunk Taylor Lautner, to come help her out, Stewart turned her back to the audience and mimed a steamy make-out all by herself.
She kept her actual acceptance speech short and sweet: "Thanks, guys, this really means a lot. Thank you, guys, very much for giving us Best Kiss again. Thank you."
