Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant took part in a Facebook Q&A this week, during which he not only expressed the wish to work with Jack White, but also suggested a date and time.
Having performed at the iTunes festival earlier this week, the singer is currently promoting his new solo album, Lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar. He answered Facebook users questions yesterday to celebrate the album's iminent release.
During the Q&A, Plant was asked whether he would ever consider working with Jack White. "I love Jack White's buccaneer spirit," he replied, "And the way he dodges through the musical horizons. I'd be happy to make a single with him."
The singer then went into more specifics: "I'd like to do a track called 'Love Me' which was originally recorded by The Phantom. I'm going to Nashville on Sunday and can do it on Monday morning! I've got lunch with Alison Krauss at 2pm and cocktails with Patty Griffin at 8pm."
Sadly, we'll never be sure whether this was a genuine suggestion, as White will not be in Nashville that week - he'll be on the road touring his new album Lazaretto.
As Consequence Of Sound suggests though, perhaps when the two both play shows in Leeds on 17 November, they could rustle something up.
