Rock the Earth to Conduct Outreach at Bonnaroo

Responsible rocking is cool!

For the sixth year in a row, Rock the Earth will play an integral role in the environmental outreach programming at the largest music festival in the United States -- the 10th Annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN, which takes place June 9th through the 12th.

Rock the Earth will host a series of panel discussions, rare artist interviews and musical performances on Bonnaroo's Planet Roo Solar Stage as well as present a series of environmental films at the festival. "Green Screens Presented by Rock the Earth" will feature award winning documentary films focused on energy, food, nature and water. Throughout the entire festival, Rock the Earth will have its volunteer staff on hand educating festival goers, and collecting mobile phones for recycling.

Moderated by Rock the Earth Founder and Executive Director Marc Ross, and presented on the Solar Stage each day starting at 1pm; the theme of the discussions and performances will be "Social Change Through Music," and will explore the synergies between the artists that create music; and its interconnectedness to the environment and the world around us.

Confirmed participants in the "Social Change Through Music" programming include rare artist interviews and performances by Ben Sollee, Greensky Bluegrass, Abigail Washburn & The Village, Hanggai, Rotary Downs, Aunt Martha, Aaron "Woody" Wood; and panel discussions with Natasha Noordhoff (Gulf Restoration Network), Shannon Foley (Love Hope Strength), Katie Ries (Bonnaroo Carbon Shredders), Scott Swimmer (DRUM Strong), Stephen Dupuis (Defy Thirst), Amy White (Hear the Music Live), Suzanne Wisdom (Oceana), and several more to be announced.

The entire weekend will be highlighted by a special, "do-not-miss" musical performance and interview with Bonnaroo Headliner Widespread Panic's John Bell on Sunday, June 12th at 4 PM.
