Kim Tinkler, 51, had collected a pile of newspaper cuttings from the last 30 years along with her sister Diane, 46, as they are both big fans of the Maggie May singer and had been to see him in concert over 100 times.
She saved the newspaper cuttings and sent them off to his local post office and was surprised when she received them back when they were arranged in a frame and signed: 'Love, Rod Stewart.'
According to UK newspaper Daily Record, Kim said: 'I have followed Rod since I was a teenager and seen him at concerts all over the country.
'I don't know how much it has cost me - it must be a fortune but it has been money well spent. I had got all these newspaper cuttings and I just decided to try to send them to Rod to show what a big fan I was.
'I didn't know his address but I knew the area where he lived in Essex. I just sent them off addressed to the local post office but I never expected anything to happen.
'I was speechless when the parcel was delivered. The cuttings had all been neatly placed in a lovely frame by Rod who had written a message on it and signed his name. It's great that he has gone to all that trouble for me.'
