Rod Stewart `over the moon` at son`s engagement

Troubled Sean Stewart, 30, will marry Chantel Kendall, 39, next year.

And the pair - who are said to have met in rehab - have the blessing of his famous parents.

Rod Stewart said: 'She's a lovely person, they make a great couple, and I'm over the moon that Sean has found happiness.'

Sean's mother, model Alana Hamilton, said: 'I couldn't be happier for them.

'We absolutely adore Chantel and welcome her into our family.'

A friend of the couple told a US newspaper: 'They decided to get married after his arrest a few weeks ago.

'Sean says Chantel is a good and calming influence over him.

'Meanwhile, she's excited to be marrying into the family of music royalty and Sean has been supportive to her through her divorce.'

She is the ex-wife of Kansas City Royals baseball star Jason Kendall.

Wildchild Sean has battled drug problems in the past and has been arrested several times.
