Rod Stewart is unhappy Ronnie Wood still thinks he is “tight” with his money.
The Scottish rocker denies his former The Faces bandmate’s claims he doesn’t like to splash his cash, insisting he is “careful” not mean.
Rod - who is set to reform the band later this year - said: “I am not tight or mean.
Ronnie Wood, who is a great mate, keeps saying I am. He’s such an a***hole.
“He says I’m tighter then two coats of I paint. I am careful with money, Ronnie isn’t.”
Rod is adamant he is generous with his cash and gives it to those who need it most.
He added in an interview in Australia: “Ronnie doesn’t keep his eyes on the accounts like I do. He’s got no Scottish blood in him. But I’m not tight. I do lots of work for charities. I just don’t make it public.”
The ‘Maggie May’ singer reportedly donated the proceeds from his glossy magazine wedding shoot to charity and once bought everyone in a New York bar a drink while he was watching his beloved Scotland play soccer.
He continued: “I may have encouraged that reputation a little bit in the early days when I was building an image for myself and with my love of Scotland, but not all Scottish people are tight, believe me.”
