The Who's Roger Daltrey has denied he called for a ban on Beatles music.
In a statement at The Who website Roger says, "I only pointed out that in my opinion not all their songs are great, and that everything has a sell by date".
Roger's original comments were taken out of context by a UK newspaper.
"I never said I support a ban on The Beatles," he said. "What I said was tongue in cheek: it'll also apply to The Who one day - if there's ever a chance of us getting over-played!"
Daltrey, who was the voice behind the lyric "I hope I die before I get old" on The Who's 1967 classic 'My Generation', turned 64 on March 1st.
