ROGER DALTREY gave some newlyweds a surprise birthday gift by performing for them at their wedding reception.
The Who frontman thrilled groom Alejandro Londono and his bride Angie Jenkinson when he hopped on stage and serenaded them with his band's hit song Substitute.
Jenkinson - who met Daltrey through the Teenage Cancer Trust, which they both support - said it he had earlier rehearsed the song with rock band Thunder, who the couple hired to play at the wedding.
She said: "The band did rehearse Substitute with him just in case he was in the mood to sing on the night. They had played together once before at a charity event. When he got up, everybody went mental.
"After he did Substitute he wanted to do more but they hadn't rehearsed. I have known Roger for years through the Teenage Cancer Trust. He is like family."
