Roger Waters has thanked his first ex-wife for the inspiration for The Wall.
Speaking about the new production Roger said his ex-wife sent him on a downer that kicked off the classic album.
"A lot of the story relates to what was going on in my life," he said. I had some pretty dark and desperate moments all those years ago. When the first wife left, over the phone, I was devastated. I just bounced off the walls for quite some time.
He never went as far as Bob Geldof character in "The Wall' movie. "I didn't ever smash up a hotel room or throw a TV out of a window," he said. "That was Led Zeppelin. Bless them. Thank God … if there was a God".
