Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood has revealed that the band are on 'the verge' of booking a tour to coincide with their 50th anniversary.
There had been speculation that the group were planning a special tour for their 50th anniversary to coincide with the 2012 Olympics in London.
In an interview with the Radio Times. Wood said: "Be lovely, wouldn't it? That's what we're on the verge of.
"I dunno what the hell is gonna happen yet but we all feel we owe it to ourselves and to the people to do something."
He added: "Basically, get the boys feeling comfortable with each other, 'cause we're all ready to go individually. It's just a matter of tying up loose ends and coming together as a unit."
Ringo Starr has added to recent rumours that the Rolling Stones are planning a World tour.
The drummer was questioned in an interview with Spinner to whether if he thinks a Rolling Stones reunion would be a good idea.
"I hope they put it together and I hope they do a world tour," he told the website. "We all should be out there. If we can play, we should be out there playing, and that's the deal."
"I only advise everybody to get out there and play and I hope the Rolling Stones pull it together and I hope Keith and Mick pull it together and stop squabbling and get out there and do it - says Ringo!"
