Ronnie James Dio has not died but he is not at all well.
Wendy Dio, Ronnie's wife, has confirmed via Twitter that her husband is still alive, despite stories of his death doing the rounds on the internet today.
"Don't believe the rumors, Ronnie is still hanging in there", Wendy wrote in Ronnie's official Twitter page.
However, in a statement to Blabbermouth, she also said that he was in hospital but not doing good. "I am at the hospital and Ronnie has NOT passed away!!!! He is not doing?good, but he is not dead," she told Blabbermouth.
The 67-year old metal legend has been battling stomach cancer and this month was forced to cancel his European tour. In a statement last week, Dio said that he wasn't "well enough to tour this summer. We hope that everyone understands and want to thank fans and industry colleagues for their continuing support at this time".
Ronnie James Dio has fronted Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath and most recently Heaven and Hell.
