The outrageous comedian is set to tie the knot with his singer fiancée in a few weeks and there has been constant speculation about when they will start a family. The pair are keen to have children, but Russell has a back-up plan in case Katy doesn’t get pregnant. They love cats and have several felines already – but Russell is hoping his next pet will be far more advanced.
“I think I would like to either have a child or a cat that could speak. Whichever is more reasonable through science. But then would it even talk to you if it could?” Russell said in an interview with British television presenter Lorraine Kelly. “I have a cat at the moment that fetches things – you throw a ball and the cat runs after it and brings it back. It doesn’t look at you yearningly as a dog might but there is the implication that it wants you to throw it again.”
Russell went on to discuss his impending nuptials with Katy. He is concerned their wedding – believed to be taking place in India later this month - will be affected by media intrusion because they are such a high-profile couple. He also revealed his mother Barbara is having a crisis about her outfit.
“I hope we can have a quiet wedding, we haven’t got that many people coming,” Russell explained. “My mum is worried about it, she’s like, ‘Oh no, what am I going to wear?’ But she always looks lovely my mum, I don’t know why she worries about it.”
