The British comedian was with his now-wife Katy Perry at Los Angeles International Airport when the incident occurred in September. The couple were trying to make their way through a bustling group of photographers when Russell allegedly began lashing out, leaving one of them with a bruised eye. Katy claimed Russell was trying to look after her as someone was trying to take a picture up her skirt.
He was placed in police custody for misdemeanour simple battery and taken to the Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) Pacific Division station.
Russell and his attorney Shepard Kopp had been due to meet with officials at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office to talk about the case today, but the discussion actually took place on Wednesday.
“Mr. Brand came in with his attorney, and met with our officials. No further action is going to be taken in the matter,” spokesman for the office Frank Mateljan told RadarOnline.com.
Frank added the paparazzi linked to the case wasn’t at the meeting, but will likely hold his own discussion today.
